How To Install WordPress On HostGator

In the past, I praised HostGator and I will definitely make a Hostgator Review in the near future too. I want to help newbies and I think that a full tutorial on how to install WordPress on Hostgator is a must. WordPress is an award-winning blog platform that I strongly recommend for blogging. Don’t wait and install your own self-hosted WordPress blog today! I already wrote a mini tutorial on my ‘ Create a Blog ‘ page.

Installing WordPress can be really easy as hostgator now offers a 1-click Install. I will show you a video at the end of the post that will give you the details.

But my focus is to show you how to install WordPress with Fantastico Deluxe, you can do it in a few easy steps:

Step 1 – Login To Your CPanel

Type yoursite.com/cpanel and log in to your web panel.

Step 2 – Click On Fantastico Deluxe

Once you are logged in, scroll down untill you see Services/Software tab and click on Fantastico.

Step 3 – Click WordPress On The Next Page

On the next page, left side click on WordPress under Blogs category and click New Installation

All you have to do now is to choose the domain on which you want to install wordpress. Here you can decide where you want to install wordpress. Either at the root of the directory or under sub domain. Try to have these infos

• Root Directory : http://www.richerornot.com (your site)
• Sub directory : http://www.richerornot.com/blog (sub directory)

So if you want to keep your blog title like RicherOrNot, keep it blank.

Step 4 – Install WordPress

On the next page, it will show you information about database which it is going to use. So copy and paste your database and mysql username and keep it handy for future use

Click on Finish Installation to complete the process. On the next page you will get the confirmation about the wordpress install. Now, you can go to your admin area by adding wp-admin suffix to your domain name.

Enter your email addresss and all the installation infos will be sent to it.

After the installation, you have to install plugins and install your theme.
