Now that you know about SEO, it’s time for you to learn the basics of it. Do you really know how search engines work? It’s not everyone that knows how they work and if you don’t learn how they work, it’s hard to become successful at it besides if you outsource. Obviously, keywords are the main core of SEO because Search Engine Optimisation is all about optimizing ‘ keywords ‘. Do you know what are meta tags or keywords?
Here is how a search works:
- Human visitors go to search engines, and type in queries that use specific keywords.
- The search engines’ algorithms make connections between this search query and websites they have indexed, displaying the most relevant pages (or posts) in the SERPs.
- Webmasters work on SEO to make their website’s rank higher in the search engines ( relevant keywords). When successful, the site will appear higher in the SERPs for these specific search queries (top 10 or near)
Keywords are also used on-site and are one part of the complex equation used to determine site relevance.
Hyper-focusing on only one aspect of SEO (like on-page keywords) can actually hurt your efforts more than help them so you also have to work on off-page (backlinks, social bookmarking, article marketing, etc.)
What Are Meta Tags?
As a webmaster, you should care about SEO because the potential is unlimited. If you dominate the search engines, you will have thousands or even millions of visitors and this will help you make money online.
