As I have mentioned, it’s been years that blogging has been practiced but it’s just recently that it’s been known as an addicting ”fad”. Most of Internet users have personal blogs but a lot them start blogging seriously when they realize that they can blog for money. Newbies usually start using a free blogging platform like Blogger and after a bit of time, they start realizing that having a self-hosted WordPress blog has way more benefits.In fact, I suggest newbies to not blog on these free blogging platform and to switch to a professional blog by purchasing own domain name and hosting. For example, many teenagers have resorted to blogging as an outlet for their emotions and life problems or stories. But, savvy marketers have discovered that blogging is one of the best Internet marketing methods that will help them promote their products and work. Create a blog and start working on wordpress is really simple. There are a lot of wordpress tutorials for newbies on the internet. Blogging for your internet business is one surefire way to boost the visibility of your products, services and work. The advantages of blogging are many:

Great post. And I totally agree that people who are starting should go ahead and get a domain name, hosting account and go from there.
That’s what I really wanted to have. But I guess some of the young bloggers are not stable financially to invest this kind of offer. Or some other just make blogs for fun.
Hi, I actually believe in you. Blogging is the most contemporary type of business nowadays. Because blogging itself is a business.
I started off with free platforms about 4 years ago. After a few months I realised I would be better of getting my own domain. I agree with you – wordpress is so easy to setup and use. WP is pretty all I use for my blogs and websites.
Blogging is fun! And as a beginner, I think it’s okey to use free blog hosting sites, such as blogger, wordpress(dot)com, etc, and as they say – just to test the water.
But when you realize that you can really earn money thru blogging, then that’s the time you’ll need to transfer your blog, from free blog hosting sites to your own domain and hosting.
And slowly, you’ll become an affiliate or maybe start selling your own stuff online, such as e-books, e-magazine, etc.

Although most people start blogging mostly as a hobby, if they get a reasonable readers base/comments, with time they do start earning money. I know a few people who quite their day jobs to take up technical blogging as their profession.
