Blogging can be fun and profitable and EVERYONE can do it. Blogging is definitely not rocket science even though there are a lot of things to learn such as getting used to WordPress, learning what is an RSS feed, etc…And one thing, because of the technology barrier, alot of newbies don’t start blogging because they don’t know how to install WordPress.
So here are my tips:
1- Learn how to Install WordPress.

Obviously, as I have explained in the past, you need to buy a domain and buy WebHosting if you want to start but you also need to learn how to setup WordPress. This is a small step BUT IT’S the STEP that a lot of you has problems with! Once you get your hosting account, you need to use Fantastico to setup it. Follow these easy steps: Install With Fantastico and you are done! And start getting used with it. Use the tabs and check the titles of these tabs. The Dashboard tab will give you the stats of your comments, posts and ,etc. Example, you know the ‘Appearance’ tab is for editing your theme and your widgets. The ‘Posts’ tab is for editing and adding new posts to your Blog. In about 10-15 minutes, you will already get used to all of the features, it’s really easy. You can create categories and a menu bar for your blog. As for the plugins, you need to go the ‘Plugins’ tab and to ‘ Add New’ and then you can search for the plugins you are looking at. However, to edit the settings of your plugins, you need to use the ‘ Settings’ tab at the bottom.
2. Make Sure To Have The Proper Plugins
WordPress is so easy to use because you have the opportunity to use several plugins that will make your blogging experience easier.
Here are some plugins I personally recommend:
All In One SEO is the ultimate SEO plugin that will help your blog rank higher with the search engines. What do I like the Google Sitemap plugin? I like it because it will help get your blog pages indexed quickly on Google. W3 Total Cache’s plugin is a great one because it will make your blog load a lot faster and handle more traffic. My website has a lot of images and content so this plugin helps to load faster. It’s been proven, visitors prefer a website that loads fast and tends to buy on a site that loads quickly.Show Top Commentators` plugin encourages readers to comment on your blog, you can guess why…haha! Because they want a free linkback to their site
. You also need Akismet because it will help you block spam comments. Sadly, when you will start your blog, you will get a lot of spam comments and this plugin will save you.
All of these WordPress plugins are available for FREE.
3. Do Not Think Blogging Is A Rocket Science
I love this expression but it’s not for nothing. People actually think that you need to be Albert Einstein to make money online or to setup a blog. As you can see, there are millions of blogs online and it’s not everyone of them that is a Super-Geek. Basically, as a blogger, you to concentrate on getting traffic, writing quality content and write on a specific niche and everything else will come with theme. You also need to make people to subscribe to your RSS feed so you get to create followers or a ‘ readers’ base.
What is an RSS feed?
It’s simple, Rss stands for Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary and it’s is a file format that allows you to quickly access updated content from a website and it’s generally used for news feeds.
PS: I think I really need a WordPress category.
Well, in the future I may consider giving all of you a free service to setup WordPress.
