Proven Steps To Guest Post On Top Blogs

This is gonna be the last time I praise guest posting. Ok, maybe not the last time but I don’t want to stay on one ‘topic’ for a long time. In my last post, I gave tips on how to generate traffic and Guest Posting was one of them. My blog is currently closed to guest posting but if I receive enough requests, I may open it back. I want to make relationships and try to give some gifts to some people by allowing them to post on my blog. However, Guest Posting has way more benefits then just generating you ‘ traffic ‘. Obviously, when it concerns Guest posting, it benefits you in two ways: it builds your niche profile and sends you traffic. Your focus should be to guest post on a top blog or as we say an ‘ authority blog ‘. The problem is that the big blogs have a higher editorial standard. They also receive a lot of submissions and you won’t always get through because these bloggers are strict and don’t always have the time to talk you in the process. Copyblogger and ProBlogger are two examples of top bloggers that are accepting guest posting. Don’t be impressed by the amount of their RSS readers! Just try your best and you will surely get accepted. Whenever a newbie blogger asks me how to generate traffic to give him a real first boost, I suggest him to start backlinking and GUEST POST.

Here are some tips to get accepted by the Top Blogs:

• Try to match the site’s content: Each blog has its own style of content and try to select one with a content style you have the ability to emulate. I can assure you that if your writing style is different to the kind of ’style’ the blog has established, it won’t be accepted. If the site is about losing weight, you shouldn’t write about ‘ making money online ‘.

• Pick the right place: Each blog has its own style of content. It’s important to pick one with a content style you have the ability to emulate. If what you write is too different to the kind of ’style’ the blog has established, it won’t be accepted.

• Write a high quality post: Resist the temptation to come up with a low-involvement idea because you don’t like the thought of spending time on content for someone else’s blog. If your article is of a high quality, you get a number of benefits.

• Read their guidelines: Each of these blogs have submission guidelines. These guidelines or rules are clearly stated in a post or page. It might be a good idea to check them out before you decide to write your article.

• Watch the blog’s recent posts: This will give you an idea on the recent posts. You will know on what to blog about. If you match the recent posts, your guest post might have more chances to be accepted.

• Write the Guest Post yourself: Don’t ask me why, just do it! It will take you a bit of time writing a great article (it depends on your skills) but it will be worth it. The owner of the blog wants an exclusive guest post, it means that you article shouldn’t be posted anywhere else. They want unique content. You need to write your guest post because people will recognize your writing skills. They need to already get to know your writing style.

• Be creative: You need to come up with a creative post and a creative post title. If your title is ‘  Make Money Online For Uneducated Fools’ , you won’t get much interest because it’s offensive. Just choose a simple title and you will get through.

• Submit Your Post Via The Recommended Method:  This is a proof as to why reading the guidelines is important. All the instructions for guest posts are given. If you contact them via skype but the blogger gave an email address for submissions, chances are you won’t get accepted.

Some more tips:  1) Add your own link at the bottom of your article. Isn’t this the  point of guest posting? You want links on a high pr site? Then it’s time you give your link at the bottom of the post! One of the benefit of guest posting is that you will get high caliber backlinks!  2) Contact A Friend. If you can, ask a friend to contact the blogger to accept your submission. If you are a blogger, chances are that you are subscribed to a lot of social networks. Don’t be too pushy though. So in conclusion, a guest post is a 50/50 deal. The blogger gets to have quality content for his site for free while the guest poster gets to have backlinks and exposure for his website. 3) Try To Do Him A Favour. Sometimes, bloggers go on vacation or are sick for a short or long period of time. He won’t be able to blog, so he will be looking for a higher amount of guest posts. Try to take advantage of such situation and request a guest post.
